Nice exposure on this one. The light in the immediate foreground and the base of the column down at the bottom are distracting. I'd suggest cropping them out, but I don't think you'd have room for that. Especially night.

Nice shadow on the guy.

This works well for me. I would just crop a sliver off the left side to eliminate the outside area in front of the first column.

I'm not sure about the foreground light. It both distracts and helps lead the eye. I guess it would be better if it was the whole light. The sliver crop on left is a good idea.

I'm thinking you should have stepped back just a bit to get all of the light in the upper right into the image and to get some of that column on the bottom left into the image. The fact that they are there but only a bit of them are there bothers me.

Otherwise I like the idea, the person and shadow and your exposure.

More than anything the cut off light bothers me some but the addition of the person works as with the B&W. Nice shot.

I really appreciate the feedback. I agree with all the comments, but it's not something that I saw myself. That's what's great about these forums. I can certainly trim a little on the left - thanks for noticing that Gary. As for getting the whole light, I don't have anyway to do that without a re-shoot. Fortunately, this isn't too far away. It's a hallway on the Stanford campus.

Hmmm.. I will present an opposing viewpoint. A lot of the different areas in the photo are a bit too dark, and nothing really stands out. The fellow in the image is a bit too discrete to really matter (if he had the bright white behind him it might show him better). I'm not sure I like how the foreground ceiling light is cut, but perhaps cutting it in roughly two equal parts was the best of the bad situation. The perspective is excellent, and the contrast is good. But overall I just find it too dark, and somewhat muddy. Oh well..

I would remove some from both sides, to lose the sliver of light on the left and the first light on the right, and then some on the top to correct the aspect ratio. I like the subject and your perspective though
