Taken this morning here in San Diego. The effect is Corel PhotoPaint's Local Equalization, which I used here to exaggerate the fire's smoky effect. Comments?

Gb MB1 10-25-2007, 06:02 AM For me that is a pretty wild effect but it works here. To me the whole image looks like the top is tilting just a tad to the right otherwise I like the composition and I really like the reflections of the sun and masts on the water. Len J 10-25-2007, 06:09 AM I'm biased against this effect as I think it's overused. That being said, I like the composition & the sharpness. It's compelling & draws my interest. Len GB1 10-25-2007, 09:05 AM Len, I guess I'm the one overusing it then since I haven't seen anyone else with it :D To be honest it was OK without the effect, but just another plain boat photo.. the burning sky was just too discrete w/o the effect. MB, great Scott, you're right about that tilt! And what's not funny is that of the approx 20 shots I took that morning I found that about 19 of them were tilted  I thought I correct the good ones, must have missed this one. Thks for the input fellows! G Greg McCary 10-25-2007, 11:49 AM I like it GB, Your horizon my have a tilt. But I think it's splendid.Great PPing...... |
