What do yall think of this shot? I think it was one of my better ones from that day. Got lucky too, didnt really think much of it until I loaded it on the computer. Couldnt decide between black and white or color.

View Full Version : Forest: B&W vs Color? agtaylor 10-24-2007, 05:28 PM What do yall think of this shot? I think it was one of my better ones from that day. GB1 10-24-2007, 09:25 PM I think they split - you could go either color or b&w here. I do like the idea of the shot, but somehow the shots seem unbalanced or at least uncentered to me. I also find myself wanting to see more of the area above where it's clipped off at the top. Just me, maybe. GB MB1 10-25-2007, 06:48 AM These are way too "busy" for me but I prefer the color-I like the dark blue in the sky. gahspidy 10-25-2007, 07:11 AM I think either way is fine, but I prefer the b&w on this one. I think your shot works for me. The camera angle looking up with the lens distortion gives the impression of the trees surrounding you and moving in. The b&w enhances that feeling for me as well. agtaylor 10-25-2007, 01:43 PM Thanks all. Im definitely split on the two. Think they have a very different feel to them. With the b&w I was hoping it would feel more closed in as gahspidy said. GB1- I was struggling with getting the tops of trees all day since Im still just using a point and shoot. All the trees were pretty tall and I either lost the bottom and only got the canopy or just the trunks. Tried to crop it to make it more centered but then I lost the feeling of the trees moving in. freygr 10-26-2007, 12:19 PM For me the color is the better, it accents the trees better. SmartWombat 10-26-2007, 01:41 PM Colour for me too. |
