I have just bought a Sony DCR SR200. Can anyone recommend some editing software for under $300? The software that came with the camera is pretty basic. I would be installing it and editing from a notebook.

I believe Pinnacle's movie editing software is under $300. Also, Windows ususally comes with Movie Maker, and both Roxio and Nero now offer some movie editing capability with their DVD burning software. Then again, there's always Adobe's Premiere Elements. Maybe nothing fancy, but perhaps better than what comes with the camera.
