Yesterday I met two good friends over from Ireland and we agreed to meet at the Albert Memorial in Londons Hyde Park.
I brought the camera with the attention of spending an hour snapping away. As it happened I only managed half a dozen shots and this I think was the best of a not very good bunch.
I would like to know what you all think.

No critique? Surely it can't be that good!:D

It's a beautiful building and it's nicely framed. There seems to be a slight tilt. Give it some straightening, and maybe some levels adjustment, and you have a winner. Also would be interested to see this maybe in b&w. Hope this helps. I've come back to look at it a couple times as I like the shot and was interested to see some other opinions from some more experienced photographers. Some beautiful architecture :)

Good image, with the proviso about the slight tilt. I think the people make this picture, as well as the excellent framing by the trees.
Weird - it just occurred to me that while you were up there in Kensington shooting this, I was less than a mile away shooting underground :D
Cheers

Many thanks Aaron and Mike. Yes I missed that bit of straightening that was needed. i agree it is as much about the people. Without them it would be .....
Thanks again

Tom, this is pretty much a perfect composition for me. I also agree it is tilted a bit clockwise, but other than that i find this excellent. The trees framing the scene with the people all in what looks to be perfect positions. The sky is also adding to the beauty of this. Really well done

Thanks Gary.
I'm kicking myself for not noticing the tilt. When it is pointed out to you it looks glaringly obvious.

to me I thinks if you could get down on your knee and shoot with less ground and more of the building + sky it you a difference perspective. But over all you got a nice image there

I agree that it tilts but other than that it's a very good picture. I like the way you framed it with the tree branches. I think I like it in color though. Nice detail in the sky as well. It is a very interesting building. I would like to see some close ups. I can see statues but would like to see more of those.

The only thing I can add to this is, I wonder how it would look if you would have taken it a little less head on, like maybe standing more to the left and taking it at a little of an angle. Maybe it would have given it more depth?

Thanks JT, Greg and Mike.
Black and white was never a consideration here for me. I think it needs the auld colour. Next time I'm there I shall give myself more time and get a bucketload from various other angles and positions.
