This is the wall that marks the end of the world.
There is also a glimpse behind it.

SmartWombat 07-27-2007, 09:16 AM Strange, I'm just listenening to Pink FLoyd's "The Wall" and you post this ... I think the top image gives more sense of the wall than the lower one. But not so much of the difference between inside and outside. I'm torn on the cropping of the top of the wall, scrolling it I think I'd like even more cropped off the top - to just above the branch coming around the end of the wall. And also clone out the branch pointing at the white cloud. It then reinforces the inside/outside by not having the branch appearing to reach over, and it emphasises the wall more. That little sliver of green at the end of the wall is essnetial, as is the encroachment around the end. The lower image the end of the wall for me takes up too much of the image, and it's not vertical as I expect a wall to be. I like the plants in front of it, encroaching on the inside, I'd like to see more... I think stepping left in the second one would give it all in one image - which would have much more to hold my attention. BTW: Your images often look over-sharpened, particularly in foliage detail. I'm guessing that the images themselves are find, and it's something in the resizing process that's creating it. KenB 07-27-2007, 05:01 PM Well, there goes one of my ideas. :(:) I have one of those walls near my place and was thinking about shooting it but from the perspective of say, an ant looking up at it. Don Schaeffer 07-27-2007, 08:58 PM Interesting ideas. Thanks |
