I just got a a540 and for some reason whenever I use the zoom the shake warning icon comes on, even if I place the camera on a sturdy surface. Does anyone know what would be causing this?

Are you shooting in low light situations? The camera's shake warning is basing itself off the computed shutter speed required for proper exposure at that focal length, aperture, and ISO rating versus the shutter speed required for a sharp handheld shot. It cannot detect when you've placed it on a sturdy surface.

It does it outside, not just in low light conditions. Even in auto mode. it is starting to pi@@ me off. Anyone with helpful info would be greatly apprecated!!
