What brand of lenses fits Olympus E300. I am looking for a 300mm lens. I only see that one brand fits them. Arent there others?

Extention tubes. I know nothing about them. What is their purpose? How do I know which ones to buy for the Olympus E300?

For the lens I would shop at B&H Photo Video, Andorama and Beach Camera. Each have four third mount lenses but each one don't carry them all. I read Olympus will have a lot of new lenes out by the end of the year. As for tubes they are used to attach between you lens and your camera for macro shots. Loupey is the PR expert in that field and has a wonderful thread that tells all. I hope that helps. Check the link for help with tubes. There is only one tube that I know of that is avalabile for the four thirds mount. Check the second link to the tube.

Thanks Greg.
I have read Loupeys thread and it is very informative.
I was looking at extention tubes yesterday but I dont really know to much about them to be confident that I purchased the right kind.
Would you know if they are universal to most cameras or would I also have to look into specifically the 4 3rds system?

You can order off brands but you will lose AF. The lens can not comunicate with the camera with the off brand tubes. I think that I would stick with the Olympus one. It's really not that expensive if you look compare it to other cameras, Nikon, Canon ect. I also think you can stack the tubes and it's much cheaper than spending big money on a lens.

Olympus just annouced they will be making a 70-300mm F4-5.6 lens. I think the announcement said it will be available late Oct. or Nov. It will be one of their "standard" lens and as such should be very reasonbly priced. You might want to wait a little while for this lens to come out before buying a 300mm. For more information you can check out the Oly web site.

As far as extension tubes go, I would recommend the Oly Ex-25. It will allow some automated functions with Oly lens. I have one and have used it with the 50mm f2 and 40-150mm f3.5-4.5 lens.

Greg,
I'll try to get a picture posted in a day or two. In the mean time if you have any questions regarding the Ex-25 I'll do my best to answer them for you.
