View Full Version : July 4 JasonGonzales 07-03-2007, 04:56 PM To celebrate July 4th I have a pic for you to critique! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v419/THEFLOWER/flowflag1copy-1.jpg enjoy! Frog 07-03-2007, 06:33 PM Seems like your exposure and focus is off the flag and not the model. Overbeyond 07-03-2007, 10:37 PM Excellent. The semi serious patriotic look and body language of the guy against the flag backdrop works brilliantly. There may well be some minor technical he-cups but they don't bother me. Tom JasonGonzales 07-04-2007, 12:15 AM Here is a re-edit, let me know which is better. Thanks http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v419/THEFLOWER/flowflag2.jpg CLKunst 07-04-2007, 10:58 AM Hi Jason, I think I prefer your original post. I really like the warmth of the colors and the way they work together. Those tones are lost in the de-saturation. There is plenty to look at and think about in this one which is good, the composition certainly works. I also like the vignetting on the edges. The one thing I wish there were more of was focus on his eyes as his face seems very soft on detail. As it is, it's reminiscent of a polaroid instant print from the 80s, which works well if that's what you were shooting for. Was this cropped from a larger scene or taken on a medium format or is it really a polaroid? JasonGonzales 07-04-2007, 11:42 AM I cropped it, I do prefer the first edit as well. |
