This is the Montgolfier Brothers balloon ride at the air zoo where I volunteer. I'm surprised it turned out so well considering the shot was hand held. :D

Well done John :) I don't really have anything to add as a critique but, I am curious, what were your settings on this for handheld at night?

Oh, okay. I was thinking it was night time as the ceiling was black. Thanks for the settings info :) BTW, great job on the motion blur. Just the right amount of it.

John, the motion blur works great here and the colors of the baloon ride arching into the black bg makes it work. you may think about getting rid o the little element coming into the upper right side frame in the darkness.
Shooting wide angle as you have here will help get a steady shot at a slow shutter speed. there is less camera shake amplification going on, but still you must be steady and it seems you held it together. Now, if you had 75 mm or so. . .
Great work, John

Really nice shot John. The tones here are great, the motion blur gives this shot a different dimension. You've got some steady hands dude. If I shot this handheld the entire shot would be like the balloons. lol. good job.

Thanks, Liban. Actually, I was kind of surprised this turned out as sharp as it did. Normally I would have had my monopod with me. My hands usually aren't that steady.
