the first group of shots were taken this past saturday after a car show we attended.

shot 1 - random flower - seen everywhere not sure what they are - liked how it turned out

shot 2 - doe and her fawn - unfortunately the fawn is barely visible - too short yet

shot 3 - beach shot - by far my favorite of the day !

I love the waterfall you discovered...it looks magical.

The flowers are beautiful too...those are black-eyed susans. One of my faves!

And I really like your beach shot too...:)

Emily - thanks for the response - that waterfall was a great "Treasure" I stumbled upon - took some nice shots of the kid on the rocks while we were back there (needed someone to carry the tri-pod) It is definately a place I will return too in better light. Just need to remember that it will get dark in there faster with all the coverage.

The flowers turned out quite well - was my tamron 70-300 in macro mode, wish I could of gotten the deer to turn out as well - something I just can't get is a crisp shot of wildlife yet, maybe if I keep reading Loupey's how to do ... threads, someday I will get it.

thanks on the beach shot also - I posted it in the critique section also and they have me cropping it big time and now I think it has lost its impact ... but as we all know everyone has their own opinion how a photo should look ...

I actually love the light as it is in the waterfall picture! I think it's really beautiful.

The beach one...I knew I'd seen the title Beach on the critique forum...I hadn't looked yet. It would be fun to play around with crop, but I wouldn't crop much more than an inch off the top, personally. :) I like your crop though.

thanks knight - appreciate the comments

Emily - I agree with the light in the waterfall picture (amazed it turned out so well being midafternoon) but given the right sunset it could really turn out nice .... the beach shot is full frame

Nice variety, Ben. Looks like you had an enjoyable walk!

I especially like the trail image. Would be interesting to see how it changes through the seasons.

Thanks for sharing.

Loupey - thanks for the comments - this will definately be an area I will frequent often since it is pretty close to home .... I like the trail image also, I am sure come fall it will be a great place to capture if I can get there during peak color.... its always fun discovering new places to shoot...

one of these outings I will figure out why I can't capture wildlife .... just keep missing the focus I believe... the shot of the deer is midday and I know the shutter speed is up there, so its not shake.
