Yes, I believe it's a swallowtail. julsoph 06-24-2007, 07:32 PM Thank you, Mike! :) Knight 06-25-2007, 05:26 AM Good Capture Emily , Cropped a bit tight :) julsoph 06-25-2007, 05:35 AM Thanks Knight! :) You're right, the crop is a little tight... Loupey 06-25-2007, 04:22 PM Nice job! I like the background and that "spikey" thing (I recall Almo posting an image of those things a while back - can't recall what they're called though). Show us more of what's around :) julsoph 06-25-2007, 06:17 PM Thanks Loupey! I remember that shot of Almo's too...I can't remember the name either though...snowdrop, maybe? I'll post more soon. :) scott-devon 06-26-2007, 06:20 AM Beautiful shot, sharp and clear against that background. julsoph 06-26-2007, 06:53 AM Thanks Scott! nps474 07-04-2007, 11:40 AM I wish I could shots of butterflies like this. I love how the close frame creates almost an abstracted Rorschac (sp?) image. One can almost imagine the "missing" bits of the butterfly emulated in the host plant (right half) it's resting on. My mom has that plant in her garden, hoping to snap some butterfl. macros soon. Have you ever used an other type of commercial or home grown bait attractant? julsoph 07-04-2007, 12:00 PM Thank you, nps! This was taken at a local pond, actually...there's a bush/tree full of these flowers, and the butterflies and moths just are all over it. I haven't tried growing any "butterfly" plants myself, but I may next season. :) Emily |
