Good Captures Canon_Bob , i wonder if one of the parent's is always present in the nest with them ? I just visited some nesting Blue Herons and i could see the newborns in the nest's alone 40 feet up . If one were to fall surely it would get killed by the fall. Are these high up ?

Thanks for all the compliments all. I think I can get these the way I want them by shooting on an overcast day. The sun in these is just too harsh, and the images were really difficult to control.
The nests (there are several in the area) are only about 5 feet up in small trees and deadfalls. There is always a parent present, and as you can see in the third shot, I was getting just a little close (the defensive feathers were beginning to rise on the birds back).
I love the Yellow Crowns. They are a unique bird.

Not pleased? I wish they were mine. I think they look great. :thumbsup:
