Sparks 06-02-2007, 03:50 PM Good capture Greg, I only see one problem here. Off the back of the train there is a piece of modern day civilization peeking through. Some how you need to get that out of the picture. swmdrayfan 06-02-2007, 06:34 PM Very 19th century Greg. Sepia was the way to go here. Also time for me to start going after train shots. jkriminger 06-02-2007, 06:37 PM greg..is this sepia..not a lot of old fashion yellow here, im thinking a little more contrast Greg McCary 06-02-2007, 06:53 PM JK, I have never tried a Sephia before. I can adjust how much yellow in the Hue/Saturation layer. If I add contrast I lose detail, but maybe a little more yellow???? I will play with it some more. Thanks for your input, since I am no expert on Sephia. Feel free to play with it and repost if you like. Greg McCary 06-02-2007, 07:00 PM Here's another edit. Better????????? http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k35/cosmonaut1959/summerville610_2.jpg Tyson L. Sparks 06-02-2007, 07:06 PM I see you got rid of the background distractions. I like this edit better than the other. jkriminger 06-02-2007, 07:08 PM on my monitor ..no ..more red..I just think it needs some more contrast really...I'll work on ..see if i can process what im saying???????? Greg McCary 06-02-2007, 07:19 PM More Yellow??? http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k35/cosmonaut1959/summerville610_3.jpg Tyson L. Sparks 06-02-2007, 07:20 PM Your getting there. jkriminger 06-02-2007, 07:38 PM heres my copy...not the best Greg McCary 06-02-2007, 07:42 PM That's a good edit..... jkriminger 06-02-2007, 07:46 PM thx...i use preset sepia filters in nikon4..mess around in lightroom...and cs2...smart sharpening PrevailingConditions 06-02-2007, 07:48 PM I like the latest edit as well. The other colors didn't fit it as well, but the increased contrast really adds some pop to the shot. Of course, it would probably be blurrier way back when, but let's not worry about that now :-). PC Greg McCary 06-02-2007, 07:50 PM I think I am happy with this one.... http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k35/cosmonaut1959/summerville610_4.jpg Greg McCary 06-03-2007, 05:55 AM I added a little film grain? Thanks everyone for the help...... http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k35/cosmonaut1959/strain01-013as.jpg Tyson L. Sparks 06-03-2007, 06:34 AM You did good. KyRain 06-03-2007, 07:40 PM Greg, the colors are much better on the first one, I like the grayer version, it looks almost like a tinted b/w, it is different. The last one you did without the grain also works but it is too yellow. I had a good time there, next time we'll have to ride the train. N Seb 06-03-2007, 09:20 PM Greg, I like your angle here. Unfortunately the sky is empty but I bet that it was plain impossible to capture everything at the same time given the kind of light that you have here. This call for HDR!! lol Seb |
