Well the 2007 Indy 500 is history now. Dry the entire month it had to rain on race day.

Race day was very long, starting at 2am when I left home, and getting to the track at 3:23am after making a few stops along the way. Scott Dixon said it well, it was a strange day, up and down emotion wise, and it seemed it was that way for all the teams. During the rain delay you could feel the stress in the garage area for all the teams, not just a few.
Anyway here are 5 from the race.

#1: A crew member watches Sarah's car on the main straight in front of her pits.
#2: Sarah during pit stop #1. The paper is doing a story on the guy who has the jack hose 3rd on right.
#3: A car at speed in the background and one on pit road
#4: Safety 1, the driver and one other crew member were subjects of an article the paper did Friday. They had a very busy day on the track.
#5: crew members push a car back to the garage area where they covered and impounded by the IRL during the rain delay.

Wow it was a busy month for you John. Hope that you can get a little down time now and recharge those batteries. Really enjoyed your day by day on the 500 month. Thanks for keeping us in the loop.

Thanks John  .... 30 seconds? that has to a record !

Thanks Larry, it was a fun day for the most part, I wish Sarah had a better day but considering everything, including the wheel bumping incident in the pits she did very well.
I am going to send Dreyer & Reinbold a thank you for the their great treatment the entire month, and for breakfast race morning....that was a REALLY good breakfast! :D
It was definately a long and busy month, and this weekend was tough with little sleep and lots of photos Saturday, Sunday and Monday. I wish I could take Tuesday off but I have too much work here at home to take a day off. I have to mow the lawn, work on both Jeeps, a tractor and send other photos out from the month of May....oh and burn a CD for the track coach....it's never ending!

All the photos are great JS. It was fun to be excited for the race for the first time in my life. I watched more yesterday then I have combined over my lifetime. :D

I'm really happy to hear how busy you are shooting.

Thanks JETA :) and I'm glad you liked the race too....you know with 3 female drivers ther were a lot more women watching it.
The interesting thing tonight was the awards ceremony (I watched on TV) and they said "it's the first time that three drivers wore dresses to the event" :D

Nice shots and I too enjoyed the track updates as most of time was spent in some warehouse or studio or another. As much of that was for a client (A Eastern US Paint manufacturer) I don't feel it would be right to post 'their' photos until sometime in the future. Like after the ad campaign. Besides, I only took a few and it was a busy, busy month.

Speaking of eating. I started calling myself the Panda Photographer

You know "eats, shoots, and leaves"

More later.

Thanks DRG, glad everyone liked the updates. I had to watch what I posred as I can't post what the paper runs, and yeah, I know what you mean about Panda shooting :)
I did notice that the food changed a bit this year at the "normal" location....trying to save a few $$.
