Well the local girls track season ended tonight at Regionals. It's not as bad as it seems because 95% of the girls who made it to Regionals from this team are Freshmen and these are a few of them. They almost made it to the state finals in one event even with all 4 in the relay being injured as they finished 2nd in their heat. Unfortunately they finished 4th
overall and they only take the top three teams from that relay. The future looks bright though for this group of kids. It's fun working around this group as I first started shooting them in middle school and they love seeing the pictures.
1 & 2 almost every shot of this girl she was off the ground
3: Exhausted and crushed
4: I took this from the opposite side of the football field while shooting another event. I turned and saw her headed towards the pit and started shooting, and got a great sequence considering the distance
5: One of the few upper classmen, a sophmore clears the hurdle

Well gee, I get my third day off of the month tomorrow! YEAH!!!!!!

Great way to finish out this season on the track. Love the hurdle shot your timing was great on it. Do you know what height the high jump was? Looks a lot higher than our girls are jumping.

OT, hmmmm, yeah that would be a worlds record in the high jump  , didn't mean to confuse anyone but the pole vault pole got cropped out of the shot because of the distance and angle :D

Well that does explain allot!! I took one look at that and thought you had some East Germans competing in Indiana.

Well she could be....German last name, and she looks German as well :D although I do know she is more of a swimmer than a trackster. For her size she could do any sports she wants....just not pole vault without the pole :)
It was good I got this one, she didn't make anymore the rest of the day :(

I do like the hurdle shot too, just wish I had gotten a low enough aperature to blur the background....oh well, she liked it :D
Well my day off before the race went out the window minutes ago, I now have to shoot a graduation for the paper. It's only the third time in 7 years the overall editor called me so I said " is this good or bad" and he laughed and said if it were bad he'd have someone else call
Then he broke the bad news..... Monday will be a full day of work  with at least three or four shoots between sports and news side  NEWS!!!!!!!! I want SPORTS!!!!:D
