I take a lot of sports photos of my kids, mostly softball and volleyball, high school and tournament level. I want more detail in the shot. And I want to be able to stop all the action. I also want it easy, lol. I used to play around with settings with my SLR back in college but I use automatic settings most of the time now. I have a Fuji S7000. I love digital and I play around with my photos a lot. I also scrap digitally usuing Photoshop Elements. Any suggestions would be appreciated. If I can figure out how to post a few shots, I will. Thanks :-) Cheri

Cheri,
From the looks of it your camera is doing pretty well, and with a couple adjustments should stop the action, although I have to admit I llike the motion blur. Anyway to stop the blur put your camera in Manual mode, set ISO to 800 or higher, open aperature all the way to 2.8 if your lens will let you. Adjust shutter speed so your meter is one stop over center. Use this as a sterting point and try different settings from there.
