I found this on a Local Toronto forum earlier today and I had to share it with you. My explanation simply will not do it justice so feel free to read his blog on it

Thats nothing compared to the one destroyed at the Brickyard a couple years ago by a flying tire, the lens and body were in a hundred pieces and the shooter had no insurance. They both learned valuble and expensive lessons.

Wow, I'd be crying if that was my gear.
Actually, after I got done crying I'd laugh about it. My wife though would kill me!

I've tripped, stumbled, and fell, but so far I've always managed to protect the camera.....sometimes you gotta sacrifice your body.:p

Agreed. I was up in the snow and slipped but made sure the camera fell on me and not the hard ice. I healed.

I was too lazy to walk back when I found myself at the end of a simi loading ramp so I thought I'd jump with my camera around my neck. STUPID, STUPID, STUPID. I took a bit of a tumble sacraficing my knee, jeans and one elbow., but not a mark on the camera. My jeans got quite a tear so now their probalby worth $50 more.
