When I open up a raw image in PS, (CR2 in this case) it automatically 'adjusts' the levels, brightness, contrast and such. Is there a way to stop if from doing this and just open the image in it's 'raw' state?
This is the window I would like to bypass:

Open a RAW file, turn off all the auto checkboxes, and then go to the Setting flyout menu... the right facing arrow to the right of the Settings pop-up menu... and choose Save New Camera Defaults.
That should do it :)
I just got one of those deals to update my CS2 software from Adobe, and now when I open a RAW file, it is as shot... I have to choose if I want the auto settings now.

That worked well, thanks.
Is there anyway to make that window not come up at all?
It'd be nice to eliminate that step all together.

What window are you refering to? If you're talking about the ACR (Adobe Camera Raw) window, there is an easy way to keep it from opeing up, shoot JPEG. :D If you want to shoot RAW, you're going to need a RAW converter to open, and convert the image.

I wouldn't want it turned off for good, unless you get perfect exposures every time :) I like using it to correct the white balance in my images with snow (a lot of them).
I'm not sure if you know this already or not... See the three boxes on top that say Preview, Shadows, and Highlights? Make sure all of those have a check mark in them (that they are turned on), you will be able to see if you have any clipping going on... and then you can move your sliders around to correct it. If there is clipping, you will either have bright blue (if an area is too dark), or bright red (if an area is too hot) on your image. I hope that made sense.

Perfect exposures every time?
What do I look like? Loupey? ;)
Thanks for the help!
