Hi All,

I am brand new to photography. I won a Nikon N80 on Ebay 2 weeks ago. I am still playing with it. I do not have an owners manual as of yet.

My question is how do you activate the self timer on this camera?

Thanks for any help you can give me.

I have a Fuji S2 which is a DSLR that was built into an N80, so it should work the same way... On the top left of the camera body there's a knob that you turn for the different exposure modes. At the base of that knob there's a ring that can be turned and has four different settings (first one is "S"). The third one is a picture of a clock - that's the self timer. Push the little button above "S" in to rotate it to the clock. With custom settings you may be able to change the amount of time that it gives you but that's where mine will be different because of the display screen.

As he said, slide that ring to the slot that shows the "clock-looking" icon. Set your frame and focus, then press to take a shot and the timer will start.

You can adjust the timer for 2, 5, 10, 30 seconds i believe. To do that, you would put the camera on CSM mode, and use the thumb dial to scroll the options on the screen till it says 16 - xx. option 16 is where you select the timer length. Then use the finger dial to select your time, cycling thru the 2, 5, 10, 20 options.

Hope that helps
