Hi there,

I'm relatively new to the world of photography, having only acquired my camera last week!

However, I have spent the weekend experimenting with it and would greatly appreciate your feedback on the following shots :)

and

Both taken with a Pentax K100D, using the kit lens.

I also have the church with a Sepia filter, which I feel captures it better, however I only have a printed copy of it.

Thanks,

hello, and welcome to the critique forum. You have created some nice images here, but they need a bit more work in post processing. black and white is very difficult to get correct on digital images, but the more work you do with it the easier it becomes. A nice black and white image stands out because of its dark blacks and its bright whites, while a grayscaled version of a color image lacks that pop because there's a lot of grey. what type of software are you using?

What Brent says. Also the best thing right now is to get out there and fire away. You'll get a lot of quality people helping you here. Keep posting.
Welcome to PR
John:)

I believe the 2nd pic are next to perfect already/ Of course, I would like to add more contrast on 1st one.
