Well, I took the plunge (courtesy of an understanding wife!) and got the K10D. The battery's charging up at this very moment. I'll post some initial impressions sometime in the next few days, but I must admit it feels REALLY good in the hand!

I am envious Mike. I ordered mine today, and it won't get here for six (6) days! (I was afraid that my 'understanding wife's' understanding wouldn't stretch to include overnight delivery.

Hi all .. at last I managed to get a few hours to play with the K10D. First impressions are very much of solidity and quality. My *istDL is by no means a toy, but the K10D just "feels" much more solid and reassuring in the hand. Even the sound of the shutter firing is discrete and genteel. There are an awful lot of features I am going to have to get used to, but Pentax have very considerately kept a lot of the features just where a *istDL user would know where to find them - so the learning curve isn't going to be quite as steep as it might be for someone moving over from Canon or Nikon.
