From my trip the first weekend of May. My scans ran from 1.87 Megs to 6.2 megs, so I had to reduce them for PR. :-O

These were taken with my N80, Provia 100F, and various lenses.

BTW, weather in the first one was typical of our trip. The next three were taken during a brief period of sun.

These are some really nice shots. Good work!! I see you are using slide film now. Makes all the difference in the world, doesn't it?
BTW, did you get a film scanner? Your posted pictures look so much cleaner and sharper than they used to. Better color as well.

I love using slide film! The colors and detail are fantastic. I love putting my slides on my lightbox and looking at them through my loupe. It continues to amaze me how much detail they record, and the colors are so vivid.

If I had an E-6 lab nearby, I would probably shoot more slides. The nearest E-6 lab is an hour and a half away. As it is, I shoot slides for special events, like my mountain trips.

No, I do not have a film scanner. ASAP Photo (my nearest E-6 lab) scans my slides onto a CD for me. They usually do a first rate job. I had a few dark scans on my last roll, which I'm going to talk to them about. I checked the slides, and the detail/brightness is there. I'm guessing someone new is doing their scanning. But overall, I have been very happy with their service. They are very knowledgeable people about all things photographic.

I know it's not the Rockies, but it's what we've got in N.C. You take what you can get. Looking at your mountain shots gave me the bug, BAD, to get to the mountains and take some photo's. So you can pat yourself on the back for being the inspiration for these. :-)

Yet more shots from my mountain trip. My college buddies Brad and Rich, along with Rich's daughter, spent the first weekend in May camping at the Linville Gorge. Lousy weather most of the weekend - foggy, cloudy, raining. But we had a good time anyway.

First shot is the night we got to the Linville Gorge. N80, Provia 100, one half second exposure. And that is NOT dust beside my head. On the slide, you can see several embers flying through the air above the fire - and it is an awesome sight. The scan didn't pick up most of them, which is a shame.

Second shot is a self portrait - with friends - at the Linville Falls. This one was taken with my N80, Sensia 100, Sigma 28-70mm f2.8 @ f8.

Third shot is another one showing the typical weather during our weekend there. We were hoping to take landscape shots of Wisemans View, Tablerock, The Linville Gorge, among other things, and some night landscapes as well. Instead, we had fog so thick you couldn't see 50 feet most of the time. We got a small break on the way to the falls, and while at the falls. So naturally, we're already planning on another trip! A true photographer does what it takes to get the shot. ;-)
