I went out wondering what the noise was all about with the sparrows and saw this lady sitting by my pond eyeing up her dinner!, she waited for me to go back and get my camera, I got this shot and she flew off over the hedge. What a good girl!:D

I think she is one of a pair, the male is a regualr visitor.

Bev, if my memory serves me right, you posted a beautiful shot of a sparrowhawk last summer. Is this the same one or was that one the male that you mentioned? Either way, I hope it remains a frequent visitor for you. I'm sure we'll all benefit from it :)

Although I love the pose of the male, I think the female show a lot more intensity. She seems to be more focused on her work. Both are exceptional images.
