Hello all. I am selling my Sigma 55-200mm f4-5.6 for nikon AF D and a person had asked if it would fit their Nikon D40. I've done some research and I believe the lens with fit on the Nikon D40, but I do not believe it will autofocus. Can you assist me with this question? Thanks All

The D40 has no focussing motor. To autofocus it needs AF-S lenses which have a built-in motor. Sigma do have an equivalent to AF-S but it doesn't sound like your lens has it

I can confirm that it will not autofocus. The 55-200 is not one of sigma's HSM lenses.
