walterick 12-29-2006, 10:30 AM It's reflection time.
Go back through the adventures you've had and the pictures you've taken in 2006. Post here the images that have meant the most to you.
If there's a significant story attached, post that too!

This shot was taken on May 31st, 2006 of the Fond du Lac Lighthouse in Lakeside Park. And no, your eyes aren't deceiving you...the camera is positioned correctly.

This one has a very special meaning. It's of my friend's college graduation, and a few months after this was taken, his dad passed away.
walterick 12-29-2006, 11:38 AM I must say that going back through my pictures of 2006 has been a real blast. Reflecting on the last year of my life has leant me a sense of real growth and movement in my life. There have been many changes. And, it is always fun to go back and relive the old times!
The frist great trip of 2006 was my President's Day weekend trip to Lake Powell, AZ. I had a wonderful time and got some great shots and memories!

About a month after this trip, Phoenix awoke to a surprise snowfall we got all around the valley in the mountains to our north and east. I wandered out to take photos of the snow-capped Mazatal mountains and captured this shot of The Fountain in Fountain Hills, AZ, under the full moon. Note the snow-capped mountains in the distance.

Shortly after this trip I snapped this pic of my little friend out back picking lemons with the fisheye lens:

In June, this site did a 24 Hours of Summer. It was a great "day in the life of" project and at the end of the day I captured this shot of the sun setting over Phoenix:

July brought a surprise trip to Telluride, CO, where I captured this couple sitting together:

One of my favorite pics ever, Delicate arch with rainbow. I had to hike up to it during a storm, i was heading there for a full moon, so its also at sunset :-)

walterick 12-29-2006, 12:06 PM August of 2006 brought me to the L.A. Photogathering, where I reconnected with Photo-John, Loren, and Kokopelli, and met Manacsa, Karen, and this guy:

September brought a photo shoot with my friend's family and yielded this shot of her daughter:

October proved to be a busy month, with another 24 Hours project and a road trip to Grand Falls, AZ:

... the completion of the bulk of the work on my friend's house:

Now, I may have a late edition to this thread as it snowed this week in the high country and I may have to make a trip up north to capture the snowfall before it's all gone
Thanks for looking!
walterick 12-29-2006, 12:32 PM Hey Dylan,

WsW-WYATT-EARP 12-31-2006, 05:07 AM I have to say that I have taken about 2500 - 3000 pics since getting my D50 in early August and I have to thank the group here at PR for the help and guidance that everyone has provided. I have noticed a great increase in quality of my images the more I visit here and the more I try different things suggested here. You people are just great for helping a new guy out. One of the best things about here is the fact that when someone asks a question they don't get the "chip on the shoulder response" (use the search thats what its there for) which is seen on alot of different forums ... Just wanted everyone to know how much I appreciate the help
Here are my 2 most favorite shots of 06 - Going to have the bean blown up and printed :D
