I liked the Flamingo better. This one is nice but just doesn't stand out as well. Darned natural camoflauge. :)

I think the harsh shadow kills this shot. Also, if you brightened up the zebra it would help to stand out from the background more.

I think this is your second best. I would try a levels adjustment to bring out a little more detail, but still a great image....

I would have added a little more space below his (her) mouth. Too bad he isn't chewing on something too :)

Thanks, guys, for the comments. I will work on the image and see how these changes work.

On my monitor this looks fine to me. I imagine this one to be the most difficult of all your zoo shots and I think you have got a good result. To achieve this result and manage not to have little or no burnt out whites etc deserves much credit. I can see the skin texture very well also. The background has been blurred nicely and the old chap stands out very well for me.

Tom,

Thanks very much for the finely detailed comments. I really appreciate the feedback. This was a bit more difficult if not for the exposier elements, just getting the image. The animal was not very cooperative so I had to snap as the moment allowed. While I understand a previous comment regarding the shadow, and perhaps this is a significant error when capturing images of animals, I thought the shadow provided a bit of definition. But, I do understand and will incorpate that suggestion in future shoots.

Thanks again. Hope you are enjoying the holidays.
