Since the year is almost over I was just wondering if everyone wouldn't mind posting their personal favorite images from 2006?:)

These are probably my two, both were taken fairly recently.

Seems like a great idea to recap the year :)

I'll sticky it so that we can keep it lively. And don't limit yourself to just one post.

Since I've not been here all that long (and even shorter to the N/W forum), I'd love to see images from the first half of the year.

Great idea, Copy

Good idea for a thread!! This isn't an award winner, but it makes me smile when I see it. :) We liked this image so much, we are using it for our Christmas cards this year!

I would have to say my favourites are...
#1 My Lemur. I was so excited to be this close to it and to be able to get such great shots. And it got a POTD on a website
#2 My Iguana because it was a featured photo here :D
#3 My fish managed to get a finalist for me in a contest with over 23900 entries
#4 & #5 My Cricket/Grasshopper pictures. The large picture got a potd on a website and the other image, I love, because with my daughter in the frame, it gives you some idea of how small it was in reality lol.

Great job, people! Keep it up - I recall many of these but some I haven't seen. Either way it makes me enjoy viewing them.

And that's the purpose of this thread.

Well this is a hard job, looking back over my years pictures brings some great memories and a few smiles! but having to choose i would put mine down to the time had over April/may with my Robins and their young, it was a wonderful experience from start to finish and being able to capture moments on camera topped it for me. Oh, and coming in second was my Sparow and the Mayfly.

Theres some great pictures on this thread and shows what a great photography year we all had with many varying subjects, hold tight 2007!

Proves why this is the best forum here at PR. I could be biased though :p

Bev, your spectular Sparrow and the Mayfly shot looks different/better. Another run at post processing that image? Looks even better than I remember.

Oh, if it was difficult deciding on these, you could always post more!

There are some images posted in this thread that I could easily imagine seeing somewhere such as National Geographic or some kind of wildlife calendar... very, very, very impressive!

Here are a few more of my favs from the year. The butterflies were taken with a Kodak Z740, and I like the birds partially because they were 'firsts.'

Thanks Loupey, I thought it was some kind of sparrow at first also but Paulnj correctly identified it as a yellow rumped warbler.

There are some GREAT photos collected here! I am glad to see them again or for the first time.

Paul's owl head shot is still one of my favorites. I am biased as I have been trying for two+ years to get a good owl shot on my way out to various work locations.

Two of my favorite photographs from the past twelvemonth.

I haven't posted the monochrome of the bird's in flight in this forum. It was in Photo Critque and got stickied so I am partial to it for that reason as well.

The nesters were part of a fun week/ten days.

Here’s one of my favorites from 2006 and I only took it about a week ago. These guys are usually pretty tough to see but I guess this one was more interested in eating than in what I was doing.

Details: Canon Rebel XTi w/EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS USM, ISO 400, f/5.6, 1/80 sec.
