I'm looking at the A640 and the G7. I live in a small town I can't go see them. I did see a A630, it felt a little flimsy. I thought I would like the grip but its small and is not as ergonomic as I thought it would be.

So just looking for your opinions.
While I have you where's the best prices for the two?

Thanks

It's a personal decision. The G-Series Canon digitals have always been about a step and a half below a digital SLR. The A-Series digitals are full-featured compacts. If you want to get as close as possible to a digital SLR or digital rangefinder, then the G7 is the way to go. I'd get the G7. I used to have a G2 and I loved it. We have a G6 for the office and it's been great. But it looks like, aside from leaving out the RAW file capability, Canon has outdone themselves with the G7.

As for best prices? Most of us will tell you not to shop by price. That's asking for trouble when you're shopping online for cameras or any electronics. There are too many unsavory dealers that will advertise any price just to get your business. And once they have your credit card number the games begin. Take a look at our Camera Dealer Feedback (http://forums.photographyreview.com/forumdisplay.php?f=10) forum for examples of the good, the bad, and the truly evil.
