Over 75,000 at Churchill Downs, a lovely fall day with the skies slowly getting overcast. Some of the earlier races on the card:

1 - Spires of Churchill

2 - Breeder's Cup Juvenile Fillies - Dreaming of Anna & Octave

5- The Mile - on turf, the field first time around. I was at trackside. and this was the only vantage I had for this shot

6 - The Distaff - Asi Siempe's foul of Balletto - the eventual winner Round Pond is in front, but in this and others I caught a foul that caused a disqualification. The far left of the photo, the grey horse 2nd from left comes into the horse on far left. She finished 2nd, but the foul caused her to be put down to fourth.

By the time of $6 million Classic, it was challenging to shoot in difficult lighting conditions. I was shooting at the 8th pole, so no lights to help me out. I had to tweek the color because of magor blue shift. It was 5:20pm and the sun was setting. While not as sharp as I would have liked, I think the motion blur provides interesting results.

7 - 1st time around in the Classic - Brother Derek, a rank Lawyer Ron, Lava Man & Flower Alley

8 - Down the stretch in the Classic - Bernardini (inside) & Invasor, the eventual upset winner

Hey there, nice to see you back! I still need to get to a race and shoot, I love horses but have never gotten to shoot any except at a couple rodeos for the county fair.
Your bottom shot of the sign 1875 showns some duster on your IR filter! I see 7 seperate specks there!
The bottom shot with the video board looks pretty good, the video board actually looks good too.
I really like the start shot though.

Glad to see you made it to Kentucky for the Breeders Cup. Wish we could have had a little better weather for you. Hope the hospitality was up to par this year. I love #3 with the horses charging out of the gate. You caught a truely great expression on the one jockey face and the way you captures most of the horses heads in the same plain made for a memorable shot. Nice job on all the images.
