I finally got out and tried some shots I've been visualizing for awhile. I mounted up a Nikkor 10.5mm fisheye on my D70 and strapped it to my chest and these are some of the results I got. Let me know what you think....

that first one is spectacular! the second one I don't care as much for just because the colors arent as saturated, and the skys a bit too bright, but that first one is very cool! just wish the knee wasn't there...oh well, clone it out!

I like both shots, dont clone ot the knee,it's part of the shot and the setup you had. Thanks for the effort in taking these shots. Our trails out here in the north west are alittle rough to try what you did, at least I wont strapp any of my cameras to myself or bikes to do it.

Thanks Jimmy. I picked some relatively flat trails to try this on and I'll certainly try it again on other occasions now that I got a plan that'll work. Crashing with a DSLR strapped to your chest could be catastrophic to you and the camera.

Hmmm, SW mounting cameras in cars, and now you strapping one to yourself.....what next?

Interesting idea though using the fisheye. makes me want to stick one in the frontend of a racecar next season.....maybe for practice at least....

Got to agree with everyone else. These are unique and inovative. Love the perspective that you were able to capture.

Well next year I will announce the Spa Francorchamps trip well in advance so if anyone wants to come along, be a passenger/ophotographer, form an orderly queue.
The car is only a 2 seater, but you could take it in turns ... but remember there is a good reason why the DSLR is inside the car and the P&S goes outside !
