I took a few hours this afternoon down by the river not far from my house, the sun was out, lovely blue skys, but rather cold, but the swans were in bundance and it was nice to see the only known signet on the river this year, plus the gulls were at their usual antics, nothing special but it made me more aware that good things are close to home!

All shots were with 100-400L, ISO 200, f5.6 - f8, 370-400mm.

I like the first one too. I can get the impression how bright that scene must have been. Difficult to reproduce without having those "digital whites". Good job :)

Thanks for sharing.

I will chime in with the last one is my favorite too.

White subjects in full sun are EXTREMELY hard to render, so you did quite well here.

Wonderful images Bev. One and four are the ribbon winners of course. I marvel when I see photos like this. Beautiful captures under dificult lighting conditions.

Thanks everyone for very kind comments, i really didnt think that the pictures would come out as well, re the very sunny bright day and the swans with the sun on the river, i finally think i am beginning to get to grips with my MKll N (about time!)
