View Full Version : Replacement LCD screen for S3 IS? Green 91 10-25-2006, 06:31 PM mine got broke. anyone know where i can find a replacement LCD screen for my S3 IS? Photo-John 10-26-2006, 12:41 PM How old is your camera? Shouldn't it still be covered under warranty? Or was the damage not covered? I think you'll have to go to Canon to get it fixed. It's possible that you could buy an LCD screen. But I can't imagine that it's user-serviceable. On the other hand, if it's already broken and costs a lot to fix, maybe you don't have anything to lose. Green 91 10-26-2006, 05:05 PM How old is your camera? How is it that you only got a two week warranty? I believe Canon covers it for a year. Is it a used camera? I don't know how you'd get a replacement. If the camera had been around longer you could try to find a broken camera and buy it for parts. But that camera isn't very old at all. I'm sure you can source LCDs from OEM companies, but unless you can find the exact same one, you're likely to run into all kinds of problems. If you really like the camera, I'd pay the $200. But before you do that, find out about the factory warranty. It sounds to me like something fishy is going on. Green 91 10-26-2006, 06:30 PM How is it that you only got a two week warranty?
