Okay, I can't find the answer to this but a friend asked me what the difference is between an EF and an EF-S lens. Anyone know the answer?

They sit back farther on the inside of the camera body, and on a full frame DSLR, or film SLR, the mirror will hit the back of the EF-S lens when it flips up. readingr 10-09-2006, 07:15 AM Michael Thanks for that, which explains why the 5D can't take the S lens.
