HELP!!!!!

I have a 20" iMac G5 from last year (2GHz Processor, 1Gb Ram) and a friend just offered me a 19" Lacie flat panel screen for $100.

Two questions: Is there ANY possible way to have split screen between two screens on an iMac?

And, even if there isn't, one day I plan on having a G5 tower. Is this deal too good to pass up, so I should get it and hold onto the monitor until I need it?

Is this a good monitor?

I'm checking around online as well but I figured I'd post and see what you guys had to say on the matter. Thanks!

As they were shipped from the factory, G5 iMacs only support display mirroring. The LCD will show the same thing as the iMac's screen.

The video cards in them support display spanning, Apple just turned the function off. You can get a third party hack than enables it here:

Disclaimer: I don't know if it is safe. It's not supported by Apple, so if it kills your computer, you may be out of luck.

Also, some of the very last G5 iMacs don't need the hack. Apple started supporting display spanning in them starting about the time the Intel iMacs came out. All you need with them is the proper adapter (VGA or DVI) to go to your monitor.
