man, this is a very eerie shot. You've captured the essense of this guy IMO. A happy shot of a vulture woudn't have worked but this shot is just as miserable as the bird. lol. I didn't mean that in a negative way. This could work well as a dark poster of halloween or any other dark subject.

Eerie is a good word for this image, and I love it! The mood this creates is right out of an old horor movie. The composition is right on for me and I love the water drop on the end of the beak. I would like to see version that was just a tad bit brighter for comparison and to see a bit more detail in the bottom right corner. I think brightening this photo would be a mistake and take away from the mood it creates, but I'm kind of curiouse as to what it would look like.

What a great find! Yes, eerie is right.

I would like to see the image shifted to the right to put the head more off-center and towards the left edge of the frame a little. I think it may give it more tension and fill the frame with more of the dark body.

The nose drop is a nice touch. Perhaps a second or two later would have allowed the drop to be just about ready to fall off. I know, easy to critique now verses seeing all that when it was actually happening :p

And I like how the out of focus highlight just behind the beak tip allows the beak to be nicely outlined.

Good job

Wow this great. It kind of reminds me of "lord of the rings" when I first saw it.

yea, its great and has a gloomy mood, though i think i would have been better had the bird had its eyes open, give it more of a misery look to it ya know ;)
