Finally starting to get the hang of skate shots. I dont have any external flashes yet but if I have the right light I can get some pretty decent ones. All were shot with a D70s and a Tokina 12-24. What do you guys think?

I like these shots and would love to see them with that 12-24 in much closer. I was thinking of getting that lense. How do you like it? Is the autofocus pretty fast?

Thanks guys. I really love my Tokina. Build quality is excellent and on par with my 80-200 2.8. The Auto Focus on it is actually very fast for being a screw driven lens and its not that loud. The only problem I'm having is some blue fringing. But, this is a known problem with the lens. Nothing a little Pshop can't handle.

As I scroll through them I think #3 is the best, and as I scroll around that one it looks better and better to me cropped tighter as bits of the image don't fit my laptop monitor.

Hey Xsport, great to see you posting on the forum. I have quite a bit of experiance shooting "extreme" sports photography (skateboarding, rollerblading, biking). I think it would be best to shoot a little later in the day (when the sun starts going down, and with an external flash). You get very good effects using that technique. I also suggest getting a bit closer, and saving up for a good Fisheye Lens.

Also, i wanted to add that the background is very distracting (the brickwall). Again, using the technique i suggested will help with that.

I think there pictures turned out wonderful, but he didn't land the last picture did he? It looks like he was going for a board slide and landed with his front trucks in a crook. and probably bailed.
