i have a Fujifilm Finepix 1300, and it's worked fine for about three years now... but now i just tried to use it, the display is showing but none of the buttons are working. i tried reseating the memory card, but that didn't work. i also tried putting in different batteries. i have no ideas what could have caused this. the camera has been in the box the whole time.

any ideas what could cause this?

It sure sounds broken to me. You did the things that you can do on your own. If they don't work, I think you're out of luck and need to buy a new camera. I guarantee it will cost more to fix your camera than it's worth. Sorry about that. Unfortunately, I think having a digital camera die at about the three-year market is not uncommon.
