I am super stoked right now, even though I sit hear with my leg in a brace from crotch to ankle walking with crutches. With the extensive help and guidance of another member here, I was accepted into Sportsshooter.com. I am really excited! Not only did I get into, what I feel is a plethora of tips/information/oppurtunities, I made an acquaintance who'd I'd call a friend in the process.

I also scored with a local bike race series. I emailed the group hosting the race and asked them about being able to shoot it. The main contact is stoked because they haven't been able to get anyone to come out and take pics. They aren't offering me any money yet, which is very okay with me, becuase I really just want the exposure. We came to an agreement. He really wants to post any and all of the race pics on the race website and I asked that my webpage be linked and my copyright be watermarked or next to the image for security sake. He even said he'd plug a photo sales site so the racers could buy pics of themselves. Now I need to find an online photo sales site. I have atleast three of these races in the next two-three months coming up.

I have raced this series in the past, and while it's low-key, the organization running it has a few rollodex's of contacts. I am hoping this could open some doors for me, plus I really like to shoot MTB and haven't been able to for a while now.

Also, my physical therapist is a local High School sports coach. He asked if I would come out and shoot some of the Cross County, Track & Field, and Football matches. I used to run T&F for him and he's really a stand up guy. Again, it may not be paid but it'll get me exposure and build my portfolio.

I'm hoping to pick up a second digital body real soon. I'm looking at the 1D classic. I plan to use it for back-up or remote shooting mainly. Please let me know if you have experiences with the 1D or could suggest another body.

Thanks for the read and I'll post some of the new pics when I take them!
