Your right I love them. That second shot with the two horses in profile is awesome. Nice job. And Jerry Bailey was always one of my favorites.

Thanks Old Timer. Those two horses ran together for a good 1/16th of a mile together, but this one you could only tell there were 2 horses, not one, were the front 2 legs, showing just enough to make an interesting shot. (Thank goodness for continous shooting)

I was shooting from the 2nd floor grandstand so a bit of cropping was involved, too much background, but I think it was worth it in the end.

Bailey looks good, very professional, but it was hard to get him smiling - I think I managed 1 picture w/ a half-assed smiled

I really like that second photo, it's so subtle - you have to count the legs.

How much did you have to post-process it?
I wonder because the histogram looks rather odd, as if you expanded the contrast maybe.

I didn't do too much with it. I basically did cropping in Photoshop - there was a lot of background, as I was shooting from the second floor grandstand - and just sizing down to post. I didn't adjust the color or contrast.

I must give proper credit to the horses - they were battling the length of the stretch stride for stride, and I got lucky

glad you like the shot
