So i think i posted this shot in the critique section a while ago, but i changed it a bit (color) and though it should go in the sports area. its not tack sharp (ha) due to poor lighting in the arena and my P&S camera not being able to suck in enough light :-)

It's a good scene. But you're definitely asking more of your camera than it has to give. This photo would work best with an SLR and a long lens with a large aperture. The large aperture would give you more light for a better exposure. Plus, it would make the distracting background softer. Most of the time, I like to believe that the camera doesn't matter so much. But for sports, it often does make a difference. On the other hand, it's best to be realistic about your camera's abilities and not ask of it things it can't do. Then you won't be disappointed when it "fails" you. Compact digital cameras require more creativity, since they don't offer as much control.

yeah i realize this, thats why i'm saving for a dslr. but i don't even know how much that would help cause this arena was dark.

plus i wanted to see what people though of my first major post editing (which i learned how to do on PR)
