I am looking to upgrade my digital camera from a pentaz option s5z. I was disappointed with this as i love taking pictures at gigs and i could never get a clear image due to the amount of noise! My budget it arounf £200 and would love some advice as there are so many digital cameras out there i dont know where to start looking

That's a tough budget to get a low noise camera for indoor shots in low light. Your best bet for those situations is an DSLR.
Canon's digic II processor on their cameras seems to produce relatively lower noise, but still not all that great past ISO 200.
Fuji's Finepix F30 with their new Super CCD technology looks to have made for low light photos up to ISO 800 useable. This camera is selling in the US for $325 or so right now.
