I like the mix of colors in the shot and the lighting, but the blur on the girl seems distracting to me, I think it might look better with her in focus, and the closest post really blurry.

The concept is fine, focus near, blurred traveler contemplating her trip all great stuff. But for me the foreground is uninteresting. From the curb line to the right, the photo is a nice. Makes the viewer wonder why the traveler is there; where is she going sitting on the rocky beach?

Heck, I just think that this is plain brilliant! lol Go figure...
Personally, I wouldn't change a thing. I believe that this is one of the great photograph I have seen here recently.

It's funny you know, nobody nit picked what I expected them to nit pick. The bright labels on the suitcase being a bit of a distraction. But I decided to leave them as people may have wondered what the brown box was. Even though the title gives you a big clue.

I actually thought a slightly tighter crop might also help the image. I actually prefer the tighter crop myself, but it changes the dimensions for printing.

All in all I was happy with the shots I got from the beach yesterday but it's really nice to put them in here to see what others think.

Alison, I think if there were somthing in the foreground to connect with the traveler, or somthing that fit with your title, it would make it a stronger shot. At first glance my eye trys to identify the object in the forgound, but can't. Then I'm drawn to the girl in the background who is out of focus. So my eye dosen't get any sense of fufillment.

Maybe putting somthing on that post to suggest she is leaving would be good. Like a map, Or a framed photo of her and her "boyfreind/husband" that's cracked to suggest that she moving on from a failed relationship. But anything in the foreground to connect with the traveler and the theme of the photo would do.
