Hi there,

I've been reading through these forums for a few weeks now and I decided to post a pic for critique. I've always taken photos...I have boxes and boxes of photos. Recently I was able to get a nice Digital camera (something I was against for the longest time. I held to my belief that there was something special about film photography...really though I just couldn't afford a good camera and was bitter...) I've got a nice garden in my backyard, and since I don't get out much I decided to start focusing on photography there.

From what I read in the forum guidelines I should only be posting one photo per thread. Tough call. So here goes...please give me some constructive feedback. Also I've a photo blog where I upload a lot of my photos. http://photoattempt.blogspot.com/

Ok...so two photos...

Thank you in advance for any tips...

These appear to be night images with artificial light. Is that so? I really like the effect you are achieving with the light. The first image is my favorite. Very interesting! Welcome to PR!

Thanks again for the welcome.
Only the second image was taken at night. The other two were in the evening. I have been experimenting with taking photos at night It works out well for the flower shots because I can darken the photo some and up the contrast to try and get the flowers to "pop." Honestly I'm winging this mostly. The only book I've read on photography was "Photography for Dummies." That and I dated a photographer once...but he was way too into himself to have ever taught me anything. ;) Thanks again for the feedback.

It's been my experience that when you upload pics from other sources, be it your own ISP or someother source, they often have small bandwidth limitations, so if your site or pics have been seen a lot, the ISP/host will often shut them down for a brief period.
So that it probably why your pics were unable to be seen.
You can upload photographs here to your own personal gallery and link them the same way.
You can find the galleries here, by going to the top of this or most pages under the "Share" tab.
Welcome to PR.com BTW!
I look forward to seeing more.
