My wife just got me a Konica 5D in order for me to use all my old lenses from my old Minolta, but she purchase the extended 2 yr warranty for $190.00. Has anyone had any problems with their 5D within a 2 yr period? I'm debating about returning the warranty.

I'm not sure that model has been around for 2 years. I have had mine for about 5 months now, and no problems at all.

Well, except the dustbunnies that decided to take up residece on my sensor :D

I would keep the warranty. I have a 2 year warranty on my Maxxum 70 from Wolf Camera, and even though I haven't had to use it, I like knowing its there. Mine covers everything except for loss and if its stolen. The great thing is that it cover my lenses that I bought with it as well. I also get free cleaning of body and lenses whenever I want. Keep the warranty just in case.

I always get warranties, particularly on high dollar high tech things like cameras. I have a warranty on my 5D.

still though, $190 for 2 years is pretty expensive lol.

Keep the extented warranty -- there have been a number of reported 5D problems at DPR recently -- both shutter and AS mechanisms. Suggest you browse their KM dSLR forum.
