Dad waited at the top of the roof while watching his chick climb all the way up to get his food.

Being a fool i cropped the originals and didnt save, but i have taken a shot of the wall without bird so it gives some idea of what the chick had to climb.

The wall is approx 10 feet high.

I've seen sparrows hovering.
They flap like mad and hover just under the overhang of the window ledge where the insects hide.
Then translate sideways while pecking up under the overhang to get the insects.
They don't keep that up for long, but it is impressive.

Cool shots! That is a bit odd, but I've seen fledglings do that before to some degree.

Oh what a good example!

Poor little mite what made it worse was when he reached the top he got a meer morsel and dad flew off, he just sat there bewildered! he soon flew off and crash landed in the bush.:D
