From the back yard garden. Don't touch or you get the soft spikes all over your hands, and then you itch. They look nice, however.

Could use a little stronger subject area, but still very powerful. I'm a little surprised no one else has commented on this yet! GB Coastal Flyer 07-04-2006, 07:34 AM Thanks very much for the comments. This is a pretty interesting flower, and more amazing I don't know what it is (really need to figure that out!). But the different lighting changes the color from a deep maroon to this bright red when the sun is directly shining on it. Thanks for the comment, I appreciate it very much. readingr 07-04-2006, 09:17 AM I've been trying to figure out what was bothering me about this and I finally figured it out. Its the stem coming in from the right of the picture which is out of focus. If it wasn't for the out of focus it would be great. As is I love the colours very vibrant, blue green and red with the buds standing out so well. The detail you've managed to capture of the little hairs is exquisite. Roger Coastal Flyer 07-04-2006, 11:06 AM It's the little things. I was more intent on the rest of the photo and had not really noticed so thanks for pointing that out. CF Wow, that's the story of my life... :) But enough about me, let's focus on you (pun fully intended). Your use of color is amazing, adds a lot of "oomph" to this image. Hats off to you for capturing that! Coastal Flyer 07-07-2006, 07:11 AM Thanks again, very much. Just walking around the yard practicing shots and came up with this. Photography is fun. CF charm87 07-07-2006, 05:00 PM I agree, and that's the best way to practice. Experimenting is half the fun. The other half is seeing where it takes us. :) Coastal Flyer 07-09-2006, 06:23 AM Hi Charm- You are exactly correct. Sometimes we wind up places we never expect. I have a brother who lives in Cameron Park, about 30 miles east of Sacramento. So I am a little familiar with your town. CF |
