I'm a poor student looking for a decent telephoto zoom lense in the $160-220 range. I've been looking at the Canon 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III USM EF Lens and the Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 APO DG Macro for Canon AF Lens (the Canon lense has a review on this site (http://www.photographyreview.com/sf-1/pid-23231371/sb-1/pgindex-3/productreviewscrx.aspx), but I don't think the Sigma lense does). The Sigma lense is a few bucks more than the Canon, but I've heard a few people mention that the Sigma is better. Anyone with experience with these two lenses? This will be my first step past the kit lense -- I like the kit lens, but want to be able to get closer. I imagine I'll be using this to take hand-held pictures (since I don't have a tripod), but I'm not doing this for money so hit-or-miss picture-taking is okay with me! By all means, I'm a beginner just hoping to learn! Thanks so much for your tips!
