Hi!
I'm Cathy, 30 from (haha you guessed it) Southern California.
I'm really really new to photography. In fact I'm taking a intro class in the spring.. since I missed the fall deadline hahaha. I've always had a camera and always snapped pics here and there, nothing exciting or amazing. Basically just for fun and on vacation. The last year or so I got into a little more and decided that I wanted to actually learn to do it right lol. I had a Canon a70 for about a year and gave that up for a Canon A80, I had that for about 2-3 years and just upgraded 2-3 weeks ago to a Canon S3. Can you tell I like Canon? lol I live very close to the beach (about a mile if even that) so alot of pics I take are there, L.A in general or my other fav place- Disneyland (I'm such a dork :P). For me it's all a hobby and very relaxing. Like I said I'm VERY new and trying to learn all the functions & terminology. So be prepared for all the goober questions!

I do have a online photo album, but I'm unsure if it's ok to post a link or not so for now I'll leave it out of my sig :)

Hi Cathy. Welcome. Nice shots you have there and the S3 is a nice camera.

We are having a SoCal gathering on Aug 19th. The discussion is a sticky thread in the Viewfinder forum. One of the first three I believe. Maybe you'll be interested.

Your picture of Hollywood Blvd inludes the church bell tower of my elementary school of 6 years. Hope you have more shots of Hollywood to share.

I did see the So Cal meet sticky and posted. I know I'm going to be in Wa around that time but the trip hasnt been comfirmed to be before or after the 15th yet. If I'm able to go I'd love to!

I added my Flickr site into my sig. Most was done with my a80. A few shots of my dog and the 'outdoors' set is with the S3.
