hi all,

just a few critters that i have come across in my travels. more to come later.

also, does anyone know a photo editing program that can batch compression of pictures for web use? I would like to be able to reduce image size and jpeg compression for a series of pictures, i HATE doing it one by one. The full size images are just too big for web use, it would take 5 minutes to download a single thread.

Erik.

cave salamander at night, eurycea lucifuga..i had to use a flashlight to get focus and a helluva flash diffuser to get close enough, the animal is four inches total length.

Eric, I take it you are into reptiles, Great to here! I think you are getting some great images due to the fact that you know your subject. Knowing one's subject is a great help when photographing wildlife(or anything for that matter).

Not knowing what's up in chicago, is the cottonmouth and copperhead quite rare in that colder climate? I have both species in NJ, but they are very rare here.

Cool pix Eric.

As far as your batch resizing question goes, Photoshop can do it. All you have to do is create an action to resize the image. Then go to File > Automate > Batch. In the next window you can choose all the images you have opened, or choose a folder to pull the images from. You also have to choose a what to do with the files when the action is done. Save them to a folder, or select None, and it will leave the files open. Choose the resizing action you created, hit Run and let the computer do all the work.
